About
The Lauren O'Brien Show
Lauren O'Brien is a comedian, actress and writer. Her first gig in the entertainment business came when she starred as the very respectable "Office Party Drunk" in an internet campaign for the San Diego Union Tribune that quickly became a worldwide viral video. After reaching over 1 million views in a week, the video gained popularity on CNN and "The Howard Stern Show". In 2009 a TV station in the UK aired a program for Top 50 YouTube stars of all time called "Rude Tube: Heroes and Villains" and Lauren was asked to appear on the show. After this, Lauren caught the comedy bug and began an acting, sketch comedy, stand-up and radio career.
She has appeared in national spots such as a music video for Barack Obama's presidential campaign by Dave Stewart called "American Prayer" and in Verizon and OnStar commercials.
In her stand-up career, Lauren has opened for national headliners such as Joey "Coco" Diaz ("The Joe Rogan Experience"), Christian Finnegan ("Chappelle's Show", "Best Week Ever", Jimmy Shubert ("King of Queens"), Alonzo Bodden ("Last Comic Standing" and many more. She has performed stand-up all over the country most notably at the Hollywood Improv, The Comedy Store (La Jolla) and the American Comedy Co.
In 2010 Lauren transitioned her stand-up comedy persona into a morning radio personality when she joined as a co-host and assistant producer on "The Mikey Show" on KBZT San Diego (FM 94.9) and next on the FM 94/9 Morning Show. She continues to do national voiceover work.
Lauren is also a published writer; including a piece in the acting publication Backstage and is a regular contributor for the comedy industry publication The Comic Bible. Most recently she has gained some Twitter recognition by being featured on "Ellen" and in The Huffington Post for her Tweets.
